Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport
Our Driver/Guide will be waiting for you at Kilimanjaro Airport and bring you to your lodge (about 1-hour drive).
Day 2: Be happy and enjoy the local traditions
Submerge yourself in the pure life and tradition of the Maasai Warriors and enjoy a full day of astonishment, connection and lots of fun with the Maasai. You can go for a nature walk with an explanation about traditional herbs and get answers to all your questions. How is the division between men and women? Is it true that a man has more than one wife? And how does this look like in daily life? Why do you see young boys walking the cattle, why are they not in school? How do they survive from eating meat, milk and blood only? You can spend the afternoon at the swimming pool with magnificent views or choose one of the many optional activities, such as a donkey ride or visit to the nearby Maasai Boma. At the end of the day, you will be invited to join the spear-throwing competition and a great Sundowner with Maasai singing and dancing on top of a hill with views of the Kilimanjaro and chat with the Maasai at the campfire.
Day 3: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, you will drive to Tarangire National Park for your first game drive with picnic lunch en-route. Tarangire is one of the most beautiful parks in the North of Tanzania where you can be sure to see herds elephants and many other species of wildlife.
Day 4: Full day game drive in Tarangire National Park
Program depending on your wishes, it can be a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park or a slow start with a relaxed breakfast, a dive in the swimming pool and another game drive in Tarangire National Park. It’s all up to you to decide together with your guide. Late afternoon drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Crater Tour and drive to The Serengeti
Early morning depart for a game drive in the famous Ngorongoro Crater. You wind our way down into the caldera, with the most breathtaking views along the way. Armed with your guide’s years of experience and his ‘eagle-eyes’, you might even spot a rhino. The chance of seeing an active pride of lions at close quarters is high on the list of possibilities.
Picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, where you will enjoy all the sights and sounds of the ‘laughing’ hippos enjoying a wallow in the cool water and a mud-bath. After lunch drive to the Serengeti with game drive en-route.
Day 6 en 7: Two full days in The Serengeti to follow The Great Migration
Two full days to explore this part of the Serengeti where you can follow the migration of the animals on the plains along the shores of the Mara River. Crocodiles are waiting for wildebeest who risk the crossing. With good planning and a bit of luck, you will be witnessing a spectacle that is hard to put into words. Watching a crossing and hear all the noises is a very impressive experience that you’ll never forget! This is also the area where you can be quite sure to see a hunter like a hyena, cheetah, lion or leopard. Together with your guide, you will decide how to spend the two days in the bush, depending on the movements of the animals and your wishes.
